 About Collard Green:

Collard Green was born and raised a Glaswegian. He came to Oxford on a holiday thirty years ago. He met a girl, fell in love, and never went home. Except for Christmas and whatnot. He goes home to see his mum, of course. But not to live. He stayed in Oxford to live.

Collard studied at catering school in Glasgow, majoring in Event Catering with a minors in Eastern European Cuisine and Modern Art.

He is something of an art collector and much of his collection can be viewed in The Art Room to the rear of the café.

Collard has a wife and two children. He has a sunny and sarcastic disposition at home, but he’s a grumpy old sod under the pressure of preparing a hundred brunches all at once. Please don’t piss him off any worse by asking stupid questions about something on the menu. It’s all vegan, animal-free, dairy-free, organic, no added sugar.

Collard owned and ran Collard’s Catering back in the day when he got himself settled in Oxford. Nearly ten years ago, he got out of event catering for one reason and another, and got a job as head chef at The Firkin Folly. Two years ago he struck out on his own again and opened the entirely fictional Collard Green’s Vegan Café.

Collard Green is a vegetarian, but he does eat eggs, fish, and the occasional foie gras, and is the figment of a deranged imagination.
